The roadworks have cleared, but the issues surrounding them remain. A public meeting had been setup to talk about the issues, but the utility firm behind them has chosen to refuse to attend.
The meeting, which was organised by the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership (PWP), was set up to encourage Wales and West Utilities to work pro-actively with those directly affected by the two-week delay in completing the works.
However, Wales and West has turned down their invitation in a letter to the chairman of the PWP, saying that it found no need to attend.
Chairman of the PWP Professor David Wheeler said: “We are very disappointed. It’s indicative of a bureaucratic and non-socially engaged corporation.
