Be prepared for the British Fireworks Championships set to take place on the Plymouth Hoe and viewable from the Barbican Waterfront areas. This event attractions huge crowds as teams compete to be crowded the overall champion. Pop down and see the fireworks August 16th – 17th 2011 starting around 9.30pm. Next is the Rolex Fastnet Race. The 44th Rolex Fastnet Race will bring a record-breaking number of yachts to the finish in Plymouth this August with 350 boats taking part in this biennial 608nm race. The fleet ranges from state-of-the-art multihulls to family cruisers, with a huge variety of modern and traditional designs. There will be a number of linked events around the 19th – 21st August, including a race village near the Mayflower Steps.
