New Barbican Cafe: The Flower Cafe

This weekend saw the grand opening of The Flower Cafe located on the Plymouth Barbican’s historic Southside Street. The Flower Cafe is run by Shelley Whiting & Michelle Clark, a mother and daughter team offering a relaxing environment to enjoy your tea or coffee together with a selection of cakes and sandwiches to choose from. Their “Secret Garden” offers al-fresco style seating, which is sure to be a hit during the hot summer months.

The cafe also hosts a florist within offering a range of services from Weddings to Funerals, Valentine’s Day to Mother’s Day or for just a simple Thank You. Shelley Whiting is not only a qualified florist but also a qualified wedding and event planner and is able to provide a full coordinated service.

I was lucky enough to have a sneak preview of The Flower Cafe before it opened after Michelle spotted me taking photos outside the cafe and invited me in for a guided tour. The cafe looks fresh and inviting and the passion Michelle has for her business together with the arrangement of cafe/florist/wedding planner should see her and Shelly do very well on the Barbican .
