Dare you take a journey into the haunted past of Plymouth with your Ghost Walk guide Kevin Hynes. Kevin will show you why this ancient port of Plymouth has such a wide array of supernatural phenomena.
Kamila and I recently took the ghost tour walk which starts outside the Tourist Information Centre on the Plymouth Barbican and ends on the Plymouth Hoe. We joined our guide Kevin and a good sized group including children. The tour is great for families and Kevin welcomes children who accompanied by a responsible adult. Friendly dogs are also welcomed.
I’ll not give any of the details of the Ghost Walk away, but I will confirmed we enjoyed every minute of it. The Ghost Walk is well paced, with some interactive points along the way. Although I saw no Ghost activity, when the group stopped off to use the Plymouth Gin Distillery toilets something happened…
After Kevin filled us in on the story of how someone was murdered centuries ago in the ladies toilets and how another ghost likes to play tricks within the distillery… after a few seconds paused (especially from the ladies in the group
) a few wandered off to use the loos. A young boy however soon found he was unable to exit his cubical. His mum tried to help, but the door appeared to be ‘stuck’. A male relative member of the group was asked to go help. Intitally thinking it was a wind up he could be heard jokingly saying “if he jumps out at me I’ll hit him in the face!”. The young boy returned and confirmed by his mum that the door appeared to be working fine, yet it was impossible to open at the time.
Was it the ghost of the Plymouth Gin Distillery playing a new prank? Or just a sticky door? I’ll let you decide ![]()
