Good news, the roadworks being carried out by Wales & West Utilities should not impact the International Jazz and Blues Festival this weekend.
A section of Vauxhall Street, which snakes towards the Barbican, is to shut for two weeks as Wales & West Utilities continue their planned works in the area.
From Tuesday, May 3, the street will be closed at it’s junction with Buckwell Street and Stillman Street with diversions being put in place.
Those behind the overall 32 week £1.3million project said this arm of the works has been planned to fall after the Barbican International Jazz and Blues Festival, which is being held this weekend.
“The works are on target and I am pleased with the progress we have already made in both Sutton Road and Notte Street,” said Iain Morley, operations manager for the project.
“We are working hard to co-ordinate the works around key dates and events in the city.”
